About Me
I graduated from University College London with an MSci in physics, achieving upper-second class honours (2:1) in 2016. I have since been pursuing my passion as a full-time tutor and have given thousands of hours of one-to-one teaching.
I attribute my progression so far with physics to patience and a deep desire for understanding. I hope to instil the same curiosity and passion for problem-solving that has allowed me to excel, whilst fostering a systematic approach to learning. I come equipped with four years` experience of studying the fundamentals of the subject, enabling me to provide students with a solid foundation for further study.
Mathematics is the language of physics. Through my education, I have found mathematics to both describe the physical phenomena that we can observe through experimentation and derive new relationships. I have studied this in-depth during my degree and will convey the necessary insights that the student requires during my teaching.
I constantly strive to learn new physics, maths, and approaches of teaching to help students achieve their full potential. I am very passionate about what I study and I look forward to helping you to the best of my ability!

What I offer
FULLY PREPARED LESSONS
As a full-time tutor, I am committed to creating the best lesson plans and compiling the best exam questions for my students. The most important step to succeeding in physics and maths is to have good, regular question practice. I provide thousands of specification-appropriate exam questions for my students to work through in and out of the session. I also offer specification appropriate theory for my students, giving them a solid foundation of knowledge to build upon.
CREATION OF EFFECTIVE LEARNING HABITS
Learning is an acquired skill. I push students towards more effective methods of studying. This could include increasing the amount of cognitive effort exerted whilst learning, spacing and interleaving their practice or moving away from note-taking and reading towards more active forms of learning such as question practice and recall.
CONFIDENCE BUILDING
On top of doing extensive exam question practice in the sessions to build confidence, I try to remind students that intellectual ability is not wholly fixed and lies, to a good degree, in our own hands. With more cognitive effort we physically change the brain and its neural pathways. The mistakes we make are badges of effort, which offer useful corrective information and an invitation to double down on our efforts and try new approaches. I also express the importance of experimentation and reflection on the outcomes when studying – a highly effective way of learning that certain students may find daunting.
ENSURED LEARNING
I explain content through a variety of approaches, test my students understanding with question practice and revisit concepts/questions that students find difficult.
ADAPTABLE LESSONS
This is perhaps one of the most important aspects of one-to-one tutoring. The pace, structure and difficulty of lessons is tailored to the student’s ability and personality.
REGULAR FEEDBACK
With frequent corrective feedback, students are continuously guided in the right direction. We are often poor judges of our own ability. I provide weekly feedback on what I believe my students can do to improve.
