About Me
Hi, I'm Matthew and I'm a medical research student at Imperial College London studying all aspects of human health and disease. I enjoy the challenge of understanding how living things function and aim to share this enthusiasm with my students. Having recently sat A-levels and now university exams I know how daunting they can be but with good preparation and a positive mindset I help my students feel confident and ready. As well as tutoring I have been building engagement with international children in a summer school, highlighting the importance of an adaptable teaching approach tailored to each student, which is where I believe tutoring is most beneficial. Teaching Style
I provide 1 on 1 support for students at all ages and abilities. All my lessons are designed to work with the student's strengths to address areas of uncertainty, an approach which builds confidence and motivation. I offer flexible lesson plans and aim to equip students with the skills to arrive at answers themselves using active learning techniques. Wherever possible I incorporate real world examples into the lessons to boost engagement in a relevant way, as well as breaking down and working through exam questions to make daunting challenges more achievable. I have good knowledge of the GCSE and A-level curriculums and can help with personalised homework, exam or essay feedback, as well as revision.
